First Baptist Church welcomed Pastor Brian Krause as our new Lead Pastor at the beginning of July. He came to FBC after 15 years of fruitful ministy at a church in Iowa. Pastor Brian did his undergraduate work at Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary in Kansas City, where he graduated with highest honors. He earned a master's degree from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the academic excellence award and graduated first in his class. He is currently working on his doctorate with an emphasis in expository preaching. Pastor Brian possesses not only the academic ability to handle even the most difficult passages in the Bible, but also the common sense to communicate those truths in a way we can all understand. He is committed to helping people grow as they come to understand the Bible for themselves.

Pastor Brian has a heart for families. He has studied, counseled, and spoken extensively in the area of family life, including three trips to teach at colleges in Ukraine. Having served as a youth pastor in his home church in central Wisconsin before attending seminary, Pastor Brian understands teenagers and the special needs of today’s family. His love for younger children is also evident as he works with the elementary children in the church.

Pastor Brian has been married to his wife Ruth for nearly 30 years. Brian and Ruth met at the county fair in Marshfield Wisconsin. They were high school sweethearts and married shortly after graduation. They have two children, a daughter who’s name is Nycole and a son Nathaniel. Nycole attends Grace University majoring in Bible and Christian Ministry. She will graduate in December and is engaged to be married in the coming year. Nathaniel will be a sophomore at Grantsburg High School. The family enjoys camping and outdoor activities in their leisure time.
